I'm really excited about this Seiju Chinese elm! It's not often that you find a tree so perfectly suited for small courtyards, garden rooms, or bonsai.

A sport of Ulmus parvifolia 'Hokkaido', this faster-growing cultivar reaches about 4' in height after ten years. The corky, heavily-textured stems are covered with tiny 1/2 inch, dark green, elm-like leaves, softening the tree's texture considerably. In the fall the leaves turn golden yellow, glowing against the dark stems and trunk.

Although this tree can theoretically reach 9' in height, it usually won't if grown in a container or trough. For myself, I'm considering planting one in an old raised stone well on my property. It should be perfect!

Pot size: 4.5"sq x 3.5" (475 ml, or .5 quarts).
