There aren't many plants that can light up a shady nook like golden groundsel does in the spring.

Rising out of a small rosette of scalloped, purplish-green leaves, the small, daisy-like flowers form on stalks up to two feet high to form open, airy clouds of golden-yellow.

Once they're done blooming, I always cut the stalks back so that the basal foliage only reaches 8" or so this makes it a perfect plant for the front of a border.

It will grow almost anywhere as long as you provide it with adequate moisture. I've seen it in the deepest shade (I interplant mine with Matteuccia struthiopteris var. pensylvanica under a clump of hemlocks) and in full sun, and it's equally stunning in both locations.

It does spread rather quickly, so make sure that you give it lots of room.

Pot size: 4.5"sq x 5.0" (1004 ml, or ~one quart).
