I'm really excited at the availability of new, hardier variegated English ivy varieties like this one. It has beautiful, creamy white streaks running through the evergreen, maple-shaped leaves. It still retains all of the desireable qualities of regular English ivy, though. Spreading along the ground and rooting wherever the stems come in contact with soil, it can eventually fill large beds with its frosty looking leaves. It's still vigorous, but not to the point of being invasive. And perhaps most significantly, it's an evergreen and will provide interest year-round in your garden.
I really like this in raised, shaded planters where it can cascade down while illuminating those dark garden nooks. I've also had good experience letting it grow up along the trunk of fir trees in my backyard the backdrop is great with darker-foliaged shade plants like Ligularia 'Little Rocket'. Pot size: 4.5"sq x 3.5" (475 ml, or .5 quarts).
