Another introduction through the Chicago Botanic Garden, Mango Meadowbrite is the result of years of cross-breeding Echinacea purpurea with Echinacea paradoxa. Mango Meadowbrite picked up the best traits of both species, resulting in large, luminescent golden mango colored flowers radiating from orange yellow cones with a heady, citrus-like perfume. It's really a uniquely beautiful flower, standing out wonderfully against pink flowers and green backgrounds. The flowers hold up well if cut and brought indoors, but I prefer to leave mine outside for the swarms of visiting butterflies. Just trim off faded flowers to encourage more bud formation. Pot size: 4.5"sq x 5.0" (1004 ml, or ~one quart).
